The United Kingdom is to expel an Israeli diplomat in protest at the use of forged British passports in an assassination in Dubai, according to UK media.
Israel is widely suspected of involvement in the hotel murder of Hamas official Mahmoud al-Mabhouh. It has neither confirmed nor denied a role.
Some 27 alleged members of the team that tracked and killed the Palestinian have been named. They are said to have used fraudulent British, Irish, French, German and Australian passports.
At a Palestinian refugee camp on the outskirts of Damascus, thousands attended the funeral of al- Mabhouh who founded Hamas’ military wing.
