Oscar glory for 'The Hurt Locker'

Hollywood can begin celebrating as the winners of the 82nd Academy Awards are announced. Beating James Cameron’s ‘Avatar’, ‘The Hurt Locker’ was crowned Best Film.
Its director Kathryn Bigelow beat her ex-husband James Cameron, while also making history. She is the first woman to win Best Director.
Earlier she picked up her Razzie award, and was named the worst. However, in a change of fortune, Sandra Bullock got Best Actress for her role in ‘The Blind Side.‘ In it, she plays a woman who helps a homeless teen with his football career.
It was no surprise that Jeff Bridges won Best Actor. In ‘Crazy Heart’, he is a boozy country singer trying to clean up his act.
There was South American success too. The Best Foreign Film Oscar went to Argentinian drama ‘El Secreto de Sus Ojos.’
