Lufthansa’s profit surprises

Lufthansa has revealed an operating profit for last year that was better than expected.

It was 130 million euros, a big drop from the 1.3 billion euros of a year earlier, but better than the 31 million predicted by analysts.

The German flagship carrier has cut costs to make it more lean and better able to compete with low-cost carriers and Asian rivals.
