Hamas commander Mahmoud al-Mabhouh was drugged before being suffocated in his hotel room in Dubai, according to police there.
Israel’s Mossad spy agency is widely suspected of being behind the militant’s murder last month. Security cameras showed him, followed by suspected members of the hit squad dressed in tennis gear. It is claimed al-Mabhouh was given a muscle-relaxant to tranquilise him and stop him putting up a fight, thus making his death appear natural.
Outside the Middle East, the killers’ use of cloned passports of real nationals of several countries has caused an uproar.
