German economy stalls

Germany’s economic recovery stalled in the final three month of last year according to new government figures.

There was a jump in exports during the period but private consumption and investment fell.

With gross domestic product unchanged in the fourth quarter of 2009, it looks like the recovery there will be rocky.

The Germany economy shrank by a record five percent for all of last year.
