US planemaker Boeing expects new orders for commercial aircraft this year to fall short of the number it will deliver because of the effects of the economic downturn.
Speaking at the Singapore Airshow, Boeing’s vice president of marketing, Randy Tinseth, said next year should see airlines recover to profitability leading to a rise in demand for new planes in 2012.
