Hummer deadline pushed back

General Motors has agreed to push back the deadline for its sale of the Hummer brand by one month to the end of February.

That is in response to a request from the Sichuan Tengzhong Heavy Industrial Machinery Company.

The contract to sell Hummer to the little-known Chinese machinery maker expired at the end of January and there has been confusion over the progress of the Beijing government approval of the deal.
