Europe’s oldest opera house has just re-opened its doors after a major revamp. The San Carlo Theatre in Naples, Italy, now boasts a hi-tech stage, air conditioning and breath-taking interior décor. The re-opening has been marked by a production of Mozart’s “The Clemency of Titus”, conducted by Jeffrey Tate. The show runs until 4th February.

Russian playwrite Anton Chekhov was born 150 years ago this month. The anniversary is being celebrated with an international theatre festival in Moscow. The shows on offer include productions of Uncle Vanya, The Cherry Orchard and The Three Sisters.
