Confidence in the 16-nation Eurozone has received a double shot in the arm with December figures revised upwards and better-than-expected numbers for January. Economic sentiment now stands at 95.7, well above the 92.4 predicted by most economists. The rise was mainly driven by a five point jump in sentiment in the retail sector. It is the 10th consecutive monthly rise, but overall it remains at a low level.
