Swiss watchmaker Swatch upbeat over figures

Swiss Watchmaker Swatch Group has announced an upbeat outlook for this year after sales and margins rebounded in the second half of 2009.

The world’s largest watchmaker best known for its colourful plastic watches who also own the Omega brand saw annual sales fall just over six per cent. Despite that it was still the third best year in the group’s history.

Analysts say their strong brands and broad regional reach have proved key.
