Stars of stage and screen from all over the world are coming together to help the victims of the catastrophic earthquake that struck Haiti.
In France veteran crooner Charles Aznavour, who supported the Armenian population following the 1988 quake there, has brought together a number of younger artists to record a song the proceeds of which will go the victims of the disaster.
The country’s poverty exacerbates the problem according to the singer:
“ I’ve seen earthquakes where the unaffected areas have been able to stand the shock and help those
in the disaster zone, but in Haiti the entire country suffers from dreadful poverty.
The song’s title translated into English means “A gesture for dear Haiti.”
