Saab’s fate near sealed

As the Thursday evening deadline neared for General Motors to either sell or close Saab various prospective bidders were making last-ditch efforts to buy the carmaker.

A Swedish newspaper said two anonymous Swedish groups were likely to submit last-minute bids proposing management buy-outs of Saab.

And separately Dutch luxury carmaker Spyker said it was preparing an improved bid.
