A military push against al Qaeda in Yemen has yielded three more arrests, according to security sources in the country.
Those detained are said to be low-ranking members of the Islamist group and had been wounded in a raid that killed at least two militants on Monday. They were arrested in a hospital.
A recent army offensive by Yemeni troops has concentrated on three provinces believed to be something of a regional base for al Qaeda militants.
The United States has recently been reinforcing Yemen’s military effort with equipment, intelligence and training.
