Strong quake in eastern Indonesia

A powerful earthquake has struck Indonesia, five years to the day since the country was devastated by a tsunami.

With a magnitude of at least 6, the quake was registered off the eastern island of Maluku. It was at a depth of around 60 kilometres.

There is no immediate information about casualties. Indonesian authorities say there was no tsunami warning.
