American actress Brittany Murphy has died aged 32.
She collapsed at her home in Los Angeles and was pronounced dead at hospital reportedly following cardiac arrest.
Assistant Chief Coroner Ed Winter said Murphy apparently collapsed in the bathroom and authorities are looking into her medical history.
He said,“We come out, we look at everything, any prescription meds that we take. We will have to analyse everything and go from there.”
The young actress got her start in the movie “Clueless”. But it was her role in “8 Mile” alongside rapper Eminem in 2002 that launched her on the road to stardom.
Murphy’s on-screen roles declined in recent years
but she voiced characters for the American tv series King of the Hill and the animated movie Happy Feet.
An autopsy will be performed today or tomorrow.
