Italian Prime Minister, Silvio Berlusconi, has been discharged from hospital. After being attacked at a rally in Milan on Sunday night, the premier spent four nights at the city’s San Raffaele Hospital. During this time, he was attended by his personal physician, Dr. Alberto Zangrillo.
Berlusconi suffered two broken teeth and a fractured nose after the blow to the face. 42 year old Massimo Tartaglia, who has a history of mental illness, has been arrested over the alleged assault.
Yesterday, Italian police arrested a 26 year old man who tried to reach Berlusconi’s hospital room.
The Italian cabinet are meeting today to discuss proposals to shut down websites advocating violence, and tighten security at public gatherings. The changes would not happen straight away, as they would need to be discussed by the Italian parliament first.
