Hollywood’s award season is getting down to business. The nominations for the Golden Globe awards have been announced in Los Angeles.

The prizes will be handed out early next year in a ceremony seen as a key indicator of who is likely to win an Oscar.

Quentin Tarantino’s World War II revenge fantasy “Inglourious Basterds” gets four nominations including Best Drama.

James Cameron’s CGI 3-D epic – which cost 400 million dollars to make and market – also has four nominations.

Meryl Streep is nominated for Best Actress in Julie & Julia. Streep’s up against some tough competition. French actress Marion Cotillard is nominated for her performance in “Nine”.

Morgan Freeman is up for a best actor award for his role as Nelson Mandela in “Invictus”.

“Up In The Air” starring George Clooney gets six nominations, including one for the man himself who is in the running for best actor.
