UK and French inflation rise

A sharp rise in fuel prices in Britain last month, compared with a fall in November last year, meant that inflation increased there last month at its fastest annual pace since May.

UK consumer prices rose an annual 1.9 percent last month.

And French consumer prices posted their first annual rise in seven months in November – up 0.5 percent.

Higher tobacco prices and increases in the cost of services were the reason.
