US chocolate maker Hershey and the philanthropic trust that controls it are close to deciding whether to bid for Britain’s Cadbury according to a report in The Wall Street Journal, however another source told Reuters that no announcement or decision is imminent.

If it goes ahead, Hershey would become a rival bidder to the Kraft food group and it would also have to take on at least six and a half billion euros of debt.
