On this edition of Talk Planet we focus on the first hand experiences of climate change effects, with an exceptional witness.
Yann Arthus Bertrand has travelled the entire world and his photos have made us dream. Talk Planet want to know if he seen the impact of climate change from the sky.
Yann Arthus Bertrand, photographer:
“When I was born there were two billion people in the world, today it is nearly seven billion, so of course the cities have changed.
One can see much more the impact of man on the earth, one can see more activity, but not that much from the sky. Seen from the sky the Earth remains an incredible work of art. You really have to look at maps to see climate change.
I thought when I started this work 15 years ago and then came back to the same spot that I’d see a difference. At the end of the day you don’t see a difference yet, and so much the better, because there is still a lot left. 50% of the forests are still there, there are still lots of animals, there are still extraordinary places, and that is what we are fighting for today.”
