The five British yachtsmen arrested by Iran have reportedly been released. State radio in Tehran says they were freed this morning, although their whereabouts are still unclear.
They were stopped by the Iranian navy as they were sailing from Bahrain to Dubai for a race. The yacht suffered propeller problems, and drifted out of control towards the Iranian island of Sirri. Authorities in Tehran had painted them as illegal intruders and had warned of serious consequences before apparently changing their mind.
