Confusion surrounds the shooting of a policeman in northern Spain.
Earlier reports said the officer had been wounded in the arm after surprising people apparently planting a bomb outside a police barracks. However, authorities now say they have doubts about that version of events. They say they are trying to establish exactly how the officer received his injury. The incident happened in the town of Leitza near the Basque Country. A bombing at a police barracks in northern Spain in July injured 65 people and was blamed on ETA rebels.
