A student has opened fire at a university in the southern Hungarian city of Pecs, killing one student and wounding as many as five other people, some of them seriously. It’s reported he drew a pistol and fired a number of rounds at the bio-physics research institute where he was studying pharmacology. Local media suggest that a teacher, a cleaner and classmate are among those who suffered severe injuries. They are currently being treated in hospital.As it stands, the authorities have no motive for the violence. A 23-year-old man is being held in police custody.
