Balloon boy's parents face charges


Criminal charges are to be brought in the case of a six-year-old boy mistakenly believed to have been carried away in his father’s helium balloon.

Falcon Heene’s parents have been interviewed for a second time amid a media frenzy and speculation that the incident was a publicity stunt. A massive search and rescue operation was launched after the Heene’s home-made weather balloon broke loose and drifted away. Jim Alderden, Larimer County Sheriff said: “We’re in the process of drafting and obtaining some search warrants and we do anticipate at some point in the future, there will be some criminal charges filed in regard to this incident.” Falcon’s older brother had reported seeing him climb into a compartment attached to the balloon but he was later discovered hiding in a box in the roof space of the garage at the family home in Colarado
