Red Bull’s Sebastian Vettel has won Formula One’s Japanese Grand Prix reviving his championship hopes.
The German driver crossed the line 4.8 seconds ahead of Toyota’s Jarno Trulli and McLaren’s Lewis Hamilton at Suzuka. Vettel’s third win of the season now leaves him 16 points behind leader Jenson Button, after the Englishman finished eighth. Rubens Barrichello is 14 adrift of his Brawn GP team-mate having crossed the line seventh. Button has 85, Barrichello 71 and Vettel 69. Brawn GP needs just one point in the remaining two races to clinch the constructors championship. They would make history if they do so in their first year of competition. McLaren’s attempt to take third in the constructors championship from Ferrari continues.
