The seventh space tourist has left earth for a 10 day trip.

A camera on board the Soyuz module showed the international space station slowly come into view on a giant screen at mission control near Moscow. The Russian spacecraft is being crewed by a Russian cosmonaut and a US astronaut. Canadian circus billionaire Guy Laliberte, dubbed the first clown in space, paid 24 million euros for his seat. A former fire-breather and founder of the Montreal-based Cirque du Soleil, Laliberte plans to use the trip to draw attention to the importance of access to clean water on Earth. He is due to hold a two-hour webcast on the 9th of October linking 14 cities across the world and featuring former U.S. Vice President Al Gore, and Irish rock group U2.More about:
