The number of foreign tourists visiting Spain continues to fall.
In August – which is usually the most popular month of the year – there were 8.1 percent fewer visitors compared with a year earlier. That was worse than in July when tourism totals were down by 6.1 percent. In the first eight months of this year tourist numbers fell 9.9 percent. The number of Britons visiting Spain was down by 15.9 percent. Last year Spain lost its position as the second most visited country in the world to the United States. France remains in the top spot.
