Spanish navy in hunt for missing migrants


A Spanish naval ship has joined the search for dozens of African migrants missing after their boat capsized neat the Spanish island of Perejil.

The migrants vulnerable vessel was discovered just off Morocco’s northern coastline. Eleven people have been found alive from a possible 40 to 60 who set sail. So far eight bodies have been recovered by a rescue team made up of civil guards, coast guards and the Red Cross. Tens of thousands have managed to reach the Spanish coast, while thousands more are believed to have drowned or died of malnutrition in the search of a better life in Europe.
