Glorious Pitt opens San Sebastian film festival

The 57th edition of the San Sebastian film festival has got underway and Hollywood A-lister Brad Pitt stole the show on day one.

He is in the northern Spanish seaside resort to promote “Inglorious Basterds”, Quentin Tarantino’s latest film, that has only just begun screening in Spain. Tarantino himself was there, too. It is the first time that the director has been at the festival since the release of “Pulp Fiction”. “Inglorious Basterds”, a fictional tale of World War Two vigilanteism, is showing out of competition at San Sebastian. A total of some 200 films are due to be shown at the popular festival. And 15 films are in competition for the Golden Shell, the festival’s top award, which will be announced a week on Saturday.
