Iran’s President, Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, has succeeded in having most of his cabinet line up approved.Parliament backed his proposed new health minister, the Islamic State’s first female minister. But two other female nominees – for education and welfare – have been rejected by parliament. The president now has three months to propose new candidates but the cabinet can begin working. The highly-prized oil portfolio has gone to Massoud Mirkazemi despite him being fiercely criticised as Commerce Minister in the previous cabinet.
