Euro zone more upbeat

Euro zone businesses and people living in the region are feeling more optimistic about the state of the economy.

A monthly survey by the European Commission showed economic sentiment in the 16 countries using the euro rose in August for the fifth straight month. The improvement was fuelled mainly by greater optimism in the services sector and industry. The mood among consumers improved only marginally.
