There’s no smoke without fire.
And in the Turkish capital Ankarra thousands of fuming bar owners and their clients came together to demonstrate their anger at Turkey’s newly introduced bar room smoking ban.
Turks like their tobacco and want special areas in cafe’s where they can practise the art.
Cafe owners rounded on the new law:
“ There is no such regulation in other places in the world. All of the bar owners and workers have been affected by this ban. We are all in a very difficult situation.”
“We want the existing ban to be softened and like the leader of our association said, we want there to be smoking and non-smoking areas.”
Its unsure if all the huffing and puffing will get the Turkish government to change its stance, which is in line with EU law as the country attempts to gain entry into the 27-nation bloc.
