Ferrari’s injured Formula One driver Felipe Massa has arrived home in Brazil for more treatment on the fractured skull he sustained preparing for the Hungarian Grand Prix.
He flew back to Sao Paolo by private jet and headed straight to hospital for more tests – but he was on his own two feet and doctors expect him to make a full recovery. Specialists in Hungary kept the 28-year-old in an induced coma in intensive care. He was in hospital for nine days, and by the end of his stay he said that he simply wanted to go home and be in his house again. A spring had flown off the car in front of him in practice for the race last month, hitting Massa on the head. He was unconscious when he hit the crash barrier. There is no fixed timetable for his return to Formula One. Until he does, Michael Schumacher is taking over.
