Two new pieces from Mozart

Two recently identified works by Mozart have had their first public performance more than 200 years after they were written. The works were originally ignored as the work of an anonymous composer, but further investigation by the International Mozarteum Foundation in Salzburg led to the conclusion that they were genuine.

The concerto and prelude were composed by Mozart when he was 7 or 8 years old and transcribed by his father Leopold. Both pieces were played by pianist Florian Birsak on Mozart’s own piano in the Salzburg house where he once lived.
