BA raising big cash


Trying to secure its future, British Airways is to raise almost 700 million euros though selling bonds and bank loans.

Half of that money is earmarked for its pension funds in case the airline goes bust. Chief executive Willie Walsh said the cash removes any immediate threat to the struggling carrier. At the same time BA unveiled a quarterly loss of 115 million euros.
