Kadyrov says killers will be found

The man some accuse of being behind Estemirova’s murder, Chechen President Ramzan Kadyrov has also been quick to react. However he has concentrated on the act itself and has ignored the personal accusations against him.

“We have launched an investigation into this case. the criminals will be found and punished. Why? Because they came from Grozny, from the very centre of our republic. I have instructed all the power structures to find the killers. Things cannot continue in this way. People cannot do things like this,” he said. It remains to be seen if there will be an effective pursuit of Estemirova’s assassins, or if anyone ever comes to trial.More about: Chechnya, Crime, Russia
