UK factory production falls in May

UK factory production fell unexpectedly in May for the first time in three months, prompting fears the British economy is still mired in recession. Manufacturing output dropped 0,5 per cent from April. Analysts had expected a small rise. Despite faint hopes of a recovery in recent weeks, the British Chamber of Commerce said rising unemployment threatens to prolong the slump.
