Motown Records founder Berry Gordy had this to say about the death of Michael Jackson:

“I am somewhat numb. I am shocked at the passing of Michael Jackson – it’s like a dream, a bad dream. He was so much like a son to me, it’s just hard to realise that Michael Jackson is not here.” Gordy signed up Michael Jackson in 1968, as part of the group The Jackson 5. “Michael Jackson doesn’t just come along once in a century or a lifetime – he only comes along once. And so we had the benefit of enjoying him while he was here; we will enjoy him forever through his music. “Michael was and will remain one of the greatest entertainers that ever lived … one of the greatest entertainers that ever, ever lived.”
