Rosé makers toast mix victory

Don’t mix your drinks – that argument from manufacturers of rosé wine has won out. EU Agriculture Commissioner Mariann Fischer Boel has abandoned plans to allow rosé to be made by blending red and white wine.

That idea had angered quality rosé makers in France, Italy and Spain, which are the world’s three leading wine producers. Winegrowers feared it would endanger traditional rosé production and lead to thousands of job losses.More about: ,
