Turnout is expected to hit record lows in Slovakia as the country votes in the European elections.
Thirteen seats out of more than 700 in the European parliament are up for grabs, with polls predicting victory for the ruling socialists. But only 14 percent of voters are expected to turn out amid election fatigue following a two-round presidential election earlier this year. Polling is also taking place today in Italy, Latvia, Cyprus, Malta and the Czech Republic. Britain, Ireland and the Netherlands have already voted and the rest of the European Union goes to the polls on Sunday.
