Finale Ligure, a small town in northern Italy, enjoyed the success of it’s Festival of Eros and Creative Angst in May. The festival celebrates the most positive creative kind of angst, which is not only experienced by artists but by everyone who is ambitious and wants to achieve a dream.
The festival included a personal appearance by singer-songwriter Gino Paoli, who is a major star in Italy. Oliviero Toscani’s current project “Human Race/Italy” is to photograph “the people of Italy from all regions of the country” – the residents of Finale Ligure were the first. The Ghost of Balestrino by Gino Russo was an exhibition held in the nearby Castle of Balestrino consisting of a series of images exploring the lingering spirit of the abandoned village.
