Fiat boss confident on Opel deal

Fiat’s chief executive reportedly believes it has a better than 50 percent chance of succeeding in its bid for Opel and Vauxhall.

Sergio Marchionne is said to have told members of the Agnelli family – the controlling shareholders of Fiat – that its offer is the only one that makes industrial sense. He dismissed the other contenders – Magna and RHJ International – as not having the expertise to save the struggling car maker.More about: ,
