Councillors in a small Swiss town have been quarantined after one of their collegues was found to have travelled on the same flight as someone infected with the new flu strain. Six people from the northern town of Aarau have been confined to their homes until at least Tuesday. It comes after a 19-year old man tested positive for the bug following a flight from America to Zurich. He remains in hospital, but is believed to have only a mild form of the virus.
‘‘Even if the chance is small that it’s swine flu, there is no other choice but to order this measure. It is the best method to prevent the virus spreading,” said Aarau health official Martin Roth. Swiss health authorities are studying the condition of more than 20 other suspected flu victims.
