Havana’s Revolution Square has been the focus of Cuba’s May the 1st events.
Hundreds of thousands of people have taken to the streets, in the year the country celebrates the 50th anniversary of the Cuban revolution.
This week President Raul Castro said he was ready to discuss all issues with the US to try to improve relations.
However, he says Cuba is not willing to negotiate over its sovereignty, political and social system or internal affairs.
President Obama has relaxed some parts of a US trade embargo imposed on Cuba since 1962.
