As efforts are stepped up to try to stop the spread of swine flu, the US has confirmed its first death and Germany is the latest country to confirm new cases.
The death of a baby in Texas is the first confirmed fatality outside of Mexico. The World Health Organisation says seven deaths in Mexico have been confirmed, though local officials say they suspect 159 people have died from the virus. Countries with confirmed cases include Mexico, the US, Canada, Britain, Spain, Israel and New Zealand. Mexico says out of its 2,500 suspected cases, 1300 people are in hospital.
