Parking meters have become a nightmare all across Europe. Not having the right change, or the right card. Walking miles to the meter, not knowing how long you need to leave the car. Sometimes you pay too much, sometimes not enough. To solve these problems, in some European cities you can pay by text.

Once a driver has pre-registered their payment details, they receive a passcode. Then when they park, they text the car’s registration number along with the number of the parking zone. A second text when they collect their car stops the clock and a bill for parking is sent out at the end of the month. There are no parking tickets. Parking wardens can check if you have texted that you are parked where they find your car.More about: ,
