Seven-country lifeline for Airbus A400M


Seven countries have formally signed a deal which gives the plane-maker Airbus a breathing space to save Europe’s biggest arms project.

Britain, France, Germany, Spain, Belgium, Luxembourg and Turkey put pen to paper on a three-month reprieve agreed last month, to prevent the delayed 20-billion euro A400M military jet from being automatically cancelled. Some countries are furious that plane deliveries are running three to four years late.
