At a closing speech at Nato’s summit US President Barack Obama has warned al-Queda still poses a real danger.
Speaking in Strasbourg the president said the terrorist group threatened every member of NATO. Obama also said neither America nor Europe could face global security challenges alone. “Al Queda is active on the border region of Afghanistan and Pakistan. These terrorists threaten every member of Nato. They have struck in both Europe and North America. They are plotting new attacks and that’s why my administration undertook a comprehensive review of our strategy. We listen carefully and we consulted closely with our allies and today I briefed them on results and discussed how we can move forward together”. The US leader also welcomed Albania and Croatia to the alliance, as well as the renewed membership of France. In addition, Obama said the US would provide more aid to Pakistan provided it dealt with its terrorist threat.
