Dutch police swoop after bomb plot tip-off


Dutch Police have arrested seven people on suspicion of plotting to blow up a number of buildings in an Amsterdam suburb, including a furniture store a concert hall and the stadium of football team Ajax Amsterdam.

The authorities were tipped off by a phone call and swooped to make the arrests houses were also searched in the Belgian capital Brussels. The six men and one woman are all Dutch nationals with Moroccan backgrounds with ages ranging from 19 to 64. One of the men held is related to someone involved in the 2004 Madrid bombings. Police say they could not take any risks and moved quickly to get the suspects into custody and close shops and venues.
