Irish police recover millions after bank heist

Police in Ireland have recovered four million euros in cash and arrested seven people after a gang took a bank employee’s family hostage and forced him to rob his own branch.

Banker Shane Travers withdrew over seven million euros from the Bank of Ireland as his family were held at gunpoint in a house in County Kildare. Police are questioning six men and one woman in connection with the incident. One man was arrested following a police chase and two bales of cash were found in the car. Five of those being questioned are alleged to belong to a known Dublin criminal gang.
